TAAG Angola Airlines has received its fourth Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, advancing fleet renewal efforts and strengthening long-haul capacity from Luanda as the carrier targets growth, efficiency and sustainability.

TAAG Angola Airlines has taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 787 Dreamliner, deepening its fleet modernisation drive and reinforcing ambitions to expand long-haul connectivity from Luanda.

The Boeing 787-10, registered D2-TET, arrived on Sunday December 21, at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, boosting the flag carrier’s operational capacity and underscoring its transition towards a younger, more fuel-efficient widebody fleet. The aircraft is the latest Dreamliner to join TAAG’s network and the fourth of the type now in service.

Leased through Bengo LLC, the aircraft is configured with 367 seats, including 24 in Business Class and 343 in Economy, offering a blend of premium comfort and high-density efficiency tailored to demand patterns on TAAG’s  intercontinental routes. TAAG says the addition strengthens its ability to support network growth while improving passenger experience and operating economics.

The Dreamliner programme sits at the core of TAAG’s wider transformation strategy, which prioritises sustainability, operational resilience and service quality. The 787-10 brings lower fuel burn and reduced emissions compared to older widebody aircraft, aligning with the airline’s efficiency and environmental goals.

As Angola’s aviation sector repositions itself around the new Luanda hub, TAAG’s expanding Dreamliner fleet is expected to play a central role in connecting Southern Africa with Europe, the Americas and other long-haul markets, while supporting the carrier’s aspiration to re-establish itself as a competitive pan-African airline.
