Refuse loader Ibra Kigozi wins Toyota Noah in Rockboom’s Boom Kyakala promotion
Friday marked a life-changing moment for Kigozi Ibra, a refuse bin loader with Lungujja-based municipal waste management firm Nabugabo Updeal, who won a Toyota Noah in Rockboom’s ongoing Boom Kyakala national consumer promotion.
Kigozi received the keys to the seven-seater vehicle in a ceremony at his workplace, drawing cheers from colleagues, friends, and family. Until now reliant on company transport, Kigozi now joins the ranks of consumers whose lives have been visibly transformed through the brand’s high-profile giveaway.
“It still feels like I’m dreaming,” Kigozi said. “Rockboom has truly changed my life.”
The Boom Kyakala campaign is centred on an instant-win mechanic: purchase a bottle of Rockboom, check under the cap, and claim the prize displayed. The approach, which requires no codes or registration, has helped the energy drink brand expand its visibility and drive volumes in a competitive FMCG landscape.
The Toyota Noah is among the top-tier prizes, with other rewards including motorcycles, smartphones, cash, and household essentials distributed to consumers across Uganda.
At the handover, Rockboom’s promotional team was met with an enthusiastic reception. “This is more than just a promotion,” a brand representative noted. “It’s a celebration of our loyal consumers.”
Consumer engagement strategies like Boom Kyakala are increasingly seen as valuable tools for FMCG brands aiming to deepen market penetration. Analysts say the strong public response to Rockboom’s campaign could prompt similar activations by rival brands looking to stand out in the beverage segment. The Boom Kyakala campaign remains ongoing, and Rockboom continues to urge consumers to participate.
