Awinja said the conference offers a platform to promote the EAC as one investment destination.

Under the theme, ‘Accelerating Industrialization, Innovation and Investment in the EAC,’ participants will focus on the importance of investments and discuss  trade opportunities in the region. Details are available on the East African Business Council (EABC) website.

The event, which was last year hosted by Rwanda, will also feature presentations from industry leaders and experts in their fields from all across the world. Lilian Awinja, the EABC CEO said, “The conference offers a platform to promote the EAC as one investment destination and present to investors many opportunities in the region as well as a large consolidated market.”

Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and the East African Community (EAC) are the joint organizers this year. The three-day conference will bring together high-level government and private sector decision makers from the EAC Partner States as well as entrepreneurs and investors from the region and abroad.

The East African Business and Entrepreneurship Conference and Exhibition aims at providing an opportunity for business to business (B2B) and government to business (B2G) engagement. It is a platform for financiers and innovators to strengthen entrepreneurship in the EAC, a regional one-stop center for investment and trade opportunities.

“The conference offers a platform to promote the EAC as one investment destination and present to investors many opportunities in the region as well as a large consolidated market,” Awinja said.
