USE sees 77pc rebound in trading
KAMPALA, JULY 11 -The Uganda Securities Exchange saw 77.4 percent bounce in turnover today over the last trading day closing at UShs 2.2 billion ($657,586) as the USE ALSI slid 0.02 percent to close at 392.97 and the LSI saw a marginal increase of 0.6 percent to 1692.48.
UMEME, SBU and BOBU were the most active counters. UMEME traded 4,430,082 shares at Ushs 500 each followed by SBU at 200,000 shares at Ushs27 each. BOBU followed with 23,500 shares each trading at Ushs153.
The yield from today’s trading was just shy of 50 percent of the entire yield from trading during the month of June which closed at 20.8 million shares with a corresponding turnover of Ushs 4.5 billion from 408 deals.
