Uganda is now firmly set on a course to revival of its national carrier, after taking a tandem delivery of CRJ-900 aircraft in Mirabel on April 16.

The two aircraft that were received by a team led by works minister Monica Ntege Azuba are expected to touch down in Entebbe on April 23. Ms Ntege has indicated that commercial services will commence in July. Information about the initial route network was not immediately available with the carrier yet to complete all certification formalities with the CAA.

The delivery which has been pending since January 23, marks a decisive chapter in Uganda’s return to the regional aviation scene where she has been absent since the liquidation of its flag carrier in eighteen years ago.
