Strike scuttles Makerere University opening date
Kampala August 12- An ongoing dispute between Makerere University and non-academic staff over delayed compensation has forced authorities to close down indefinitely.
A statement by Vice Chancellor John Ddumba Ssentamu says the University Management in consultation with Chairperson of the University council has postponed the opening of the semester until further notice. The University was scheduled to open for the semester one on August 13.
