MTN teams up with YOTV in content streaming venture
MTN Uganda and streaming service YOTV Channels have teamed to provide global streaming of local audio and visual content over web.
The service that is available over mobile and other web based devices is initially offering broadcast content from just over 50 local radio and TV channels. Subscribers can pause, rewind, record and catch up with missed programs to the previous 24 hour period.
Consumers will enjoy a free 30-day trial period after which they can sign to a subscription plan with tariffs starting from UGX 500 for a day’s access to UGX 10,000 for a month, says YOTV chief executive Aggrey Mugisha.
MTN Uganda acting chief marketing officer, Sen Somdev, says the partnership was a response to consumer trends.
“Our customers are now looking for convenience. With the advent of smart phones, more people are now accessing information with just a click of a button anywhere anytime. MTN is therefore pleased to partner with YOTV to bring yet more convenience to our customers,” explains Somdev.
