Java House expands dining options in Kigali
KIGALI, JANUARY 13 – Droves of waiters running around like headless chicken, guests having to wait 5o minutes for a milkshake to be delivered or waiting 20 minutes to have your change returned.
Java House, the Nairobi based coffee shop franchise extended its footprint in the region, when it launched its 56th outlet to a chaotic opening at new corporate address Kigali Heights.
It Kigali, it joins a segment in which the already mature Bourbon Coffee has established itself. While the opening disappointments may be down to nervous waiters trying to overreach themselves, Java House has some work to do towards improving coordination between the front office and the kitchen. After waiting for over 30 minutes, your correspondent’s order could not be delivered to specification and when the food came, the french fries came 10 minutes after the Chicken Salad sandwich had been placed on the table.
Another guest the executive director of the Rwanda Development Board also had to stifle exasperation after a seemingly endless wait. Another waited 50 minutes for a milkshake to be delivered while this correspondent had to endure 15minutes for his change to be returned first because the stand in cashier was not familiar with the cash register and second because the waiter who took the payment thought attending to new arrivals was more important than concluding my service.
Located on the mezzanine of Kigali’s latest corporate address, Kigali Heights, Java House’s arrival expands
