Entebbe International shortlisted for Routes Africa award
Entebbe is one of ten airports that have been shortlisted for the 2019 Routes Africa Marketing Awards. The airport is running against Madagascar’s Antananarivo, Sudan’s Khartoum, Angola’s Luanda and Cape Verde’s Sal International airport for the accolade in the under 4 million passengers a year category.
The awards recognise excellence in airport and destination marketing. The finalists were selected through a competitive month-long process of voting by airline executives who also voted for five tourism organisations for their exceptional marketing support.
Algiers – Houari Boumedienne Airport, Cairo Airport,Cape Town International Airport
Casablanca Mohammed V Airport and Tunis–Carthage Airport are in contention for the 4-20 passengers a year category.
In East Africa, the Rwanda Tourism Board was nominated alongside Cape Town Air Access, Durban Tourism, Mauritius Ministry of Tourism and the Moroccan National Tourist Office for the destination marketing award.
According to Routes Africa, the shortlisted organisations have been contacted and asked to provide a submission, which will then be reviewed by a panel of senior airline executives. The winners will then be announced at the Routes Africa Networking Evening on 9 December in Mombasa, Kenya.
