Middle Eastern retailer Majid Al Futtaim, the operator of the Carrefour franchise in Uganda, is celebrating two years in the country by giving away goods worth UGX 110 million to 700 random customers, in a campaign that runs until February 6.
In addition to the retailer footing the cost of shopping in the 700 customer trolleys, the retailer is also offering discounts of up to 50 per cent across multiple categories including groceries, fresh food, electronics, appliances, and homeware.
“We celebrate two years of Carrefour and look forward to serving our customers in Uganda for many years to come,” said Franck Moreau, Regional Director of Carrefour East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail.
“We are rewarding them for their loyalty while celebrating our milestones. By covering the cost of 700 customers’ shopping, we are helping them to save while creating great moments for shoppers throughout this celebratory period,” he added.
Majid Al Futtaim launched its first Carrefour store in Uganda at Kampala’s Oasis Mall in December 2019, later expanding to Naalya at Metroplex, Lugogo, Victoria, Acacia, and Village Mall. The seventh store at Arena Mall was opened January 4, 2022.
