BREAKING: Juliana Kaggwa appointed CEO of Uganda Tourism Board
The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has appointed Juliana Kaggwa as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Lilly Ajarova, who now serves as a Senior Presidential Advisor after leading the agency since January 2019.
Kaggwa brings over two decades of leadership experience in marketing, corporate affairs, and brand strategy. She previously held executive roles at Uganda Breweries Limited, Diageo, and most recently served as Group Sales and Marketing Director at Seed Co Group, a South Africa-based company.
A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University, Kaggwa also earned two MBAs from the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.
Well-regarded for her dynamic leadership and private-sector insight, Kaggwa is expected to strengthen UTB’s stakeholder engagement and drive Uganda’s tourism promotion strategy at both regional and international levels.
Her appointment follows a competitive recruitment process initiated earlier this year by UTB, which sought a results-oriented executive to steer Uganda’s tourism sector through its next phase of growth.
