Airlink expands Mozambique network to seven destinations with new Nacala service
Southern Africa’s regional carrier Airlink will expand its Mozambican network with the addition of Nacala as a new destination from February 2026, marking its seventh point in Mozambique.
The airline will launch twice-weekly return flights between Johannesburg and Nacala, operating every Monday and Friday, using its modern Embraer regional jet aircraft.
“By adding Nacala to our network, Airlink is able to provide additional vital connectivity for business and leisure travellers to and from Mozambique’s economically important north-eastern region, complementing our current services to Nampula,” said Airlink Chief Executive Officer, De Villiers Engelbrecht.
The new service will begin on February 2, 2026, with flights departing Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport at 10:30 a.m. and arriving in Nacala at 1:10 p.m. The return leg will depart Nacala at 1:45 p.m. and arrive back in Johannesburg at 4:35 p.m.
The new route strengthens Airlink’s growing footprint in Mozambique, where it already operates 64 weekly return flights to Maputo, Beira, Pemba, Nampula, Tete, and Vilanculos. The carrier says the schedule is designed to ensure smooth onward connections to Airlink’s domestic and regional network, as well as to international long-haul flights operated by its global partner airlines.
Airlink’s service continues to emphasize passenger comfort, with complimentary light meals and refreshments, generous legroom, and a two-seat configuration ensuring no middle seats. Economy class passengers are entitled to a free 20kg luggage allowance, with 30kg for full-fare economy travellers, and an additional 15kg allowance for sports equipment.
