Uganda power tariffs ease

October 17,2018 – Consumers in Uganda will see marginal reductions to their electricity bills for the remaining part of the year as Q4 2018 tariffs announced by the Uganda Electricity Regulatory Agency ERA kick in.
The tariff for domestic users has fallen 0.2 pc off the Q3 base while large industrial users will benefit from a 0.5 pc reduction of the kilowatt hour while commercial and medium industrial users will see only a 0.1 pc shrink on the unit. The reductions translate into UGX 769.5 per unit for domestic users.
The major gains came from foreign exchange and fuel factor adjustment which retreated significantly.
