TAAG Angola to debut new livery with A220’s
Flag carrier Taag Angola has revealed new livery it says will debut on Airbus A220’s, the first of which is expected to join the fleet next month. The carrier has released schematic images of the livery that will be introduced to the public as its new A220’s and B787 Dreamliners enter service.
“The aircraft paint, and visual identity will accommodate the Angola vibe, by reinforcing the visibility of the PALANCA (black antelope considered a national symbol) on the plane’s tail and winglets, as well as, keeping the color pattern inspired by Angola´s traditional fabric named Samakaka,” TAAG said in a statement July 9.
TAAG plans to deploy the A220’s, 15 of which it has on order on the denser domestic and regional routes. The A220-300s have been configured to 137 seats split between 12 in business class and 125 in economy.
The new aircraft will arrive as TAAG moves operations from its current hub at Quatro de Fevereiro Airport to Dr. António Agostinho Neto, or New Luanda International Airport. The airline is also gearing up for competition starting January 2025 when Angola officially opens to SAATM flights.
“To address those developments, TAAG is implementing its strategic plan, taking action to increase the fleet and new routes to
capture more traffic and foster regional connectivity,” the carrier says.
TAAG serves 12 domestic and 11 international destinations.
