October 15, 2018—The first batch of winners in Stanbic Bank Uganda (SBU) latest campaign to get customers to increase their digital transactions on the various bank platforms have been awarded their cash prizes.

Kwesiga hands over a dummy cheque to Andruga Ahmed Mohammed at the Forest Mall branch in Kampala recently.

Twenty people have won UGX 1 million (just over $260) each in the DigiCashBack promotion which runs until the end of the year.

“We rewarded our winners drawn from September 2018 and we shall continue to reward lucky customers with UGX 1 million each when they utilize our digital platforms to make transactions,” Rhona Kwesiga, Stanbic Bank’s Branch Control Manager said recently at Forest Mall branch in Kampala.

The winners are customers of Stanbic’s branches across Uganda. They are, Esther Kamikazi, Caroline Atuhaire, Owino Kenneth Otheino, Paul Natureeba, Edgar Tumwebaze, Duncan Mugisha, Moses Baguma, Patrick Okware, Margaret Ajok, Innocent Okumu, Andruga Ahmed Mohammed, Bashir Kyaterekera, Alhassan Bah, Carolyne Atugonza Akiiki, Emon Komakec, David Daniel Kaya, George K. Mukasa, Michael Nsobani, George Angiro and Patricia Blazquez

SBU Head of Digital Banking, Veronica Sentongo said last month, there is increased customer awareness of the bank’s digital platforms with 98 pc of new accounts being on-boarded through digital platforms.

She said, “The campaign’s aim is therefore to continue to encourage customers to utilize all the alternative digital platforms and increase the usage of our digital banking offering as a preferred service to facilitate convenience. We have understood our customer needs and through providing low-cost self-service digital channels, we are able to put our customers in control of their overall banking experience.”

SBU has throughout this year increased its service offering on its digital channels to better achieve the objectives with this campaign. Customers can now open accounts online as well access more services on Agent Banking.
