Uganda’s biggest human resource umbrella went online in midweek to conduct its Annual General Meeting and election followed by an on-going remote on-boarding and induction process.

The Human Resources Manager Association (HRMAU) of Uganda is the first organization to implement the new health measures put in place by the government, in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Members decided to retain Moses Witta Mbubi, General Manager – Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited as President while Bob Trubish, the Chief Manager HR Business Partnering – Centenary Bank kept his seat as Director, Finance.

In his acceptance speech, Mbubi appreciated all the candidates that put up with the formidable challenge of expressing interest, being vetted and campaigning for the various positions prior to the elections.

He said, “To the new colleagues on the team, this is a duty you have to execute selflessly – it is a duty that calls for your dedication and commitment to the execution of the plans that we have; before us is an opportunity to make change.”

HRMAU reported significant improvements in its financial performance, member mobilization, branding and visibility, partnerships, technology and digitization, milestones in the drive to institutionalize the profession through the HR Bill and enhancement of members’ capabilities as indicated in the 2019 HRMAU Annual Report.

Other office bearers are:

Mrs. Phionah Tumusiime Semucho, Human Resource – Electoral Commission as Vice President;

Mrs. Doreen Asaasira Muhangazi, Head of Human Resources – Sanlam Life Insurance-Uganda as Secretary General;

Saidi Alikwan, Manager Organisation Effectiveness – UMEME Limited as Director Professional Development;

Mrs. Shamim Nabaggala Walusimbi Nsubuga, Recruitment Manager – Q-Sourcing Servtec as Director, Public Relations and Marketing;

Mrs. Patricia Aol, Principal Officer- Human Resource Management – National Drug Authority as Director, Programmes;

Herbert Zake, Managing Consultant – Steadfast Quality Solutions Limited as Committee Member;

James Walusimbi, Human Resource Manager, Jubilee Life Insurance as Committee Member;

Moureen Nakimuli, People and Culture Coordinator – Living Goods Uganda as Committee Member;

Stellah Mbekeka, HR Coordinator -Sourcing and Reward – Save the Children International as Committee Member.

HRMAU is a professional membership body that brings together over 800 Human Resources Practitioners, the academia, Community based Human Resources, Development Partners, Private, Public and Non-Governmental Human Resource Professionals.

Mbubi said, “We have a well-balanced team by generations, experience, gender and key HR practice sectors. We look forward to your support in executing our mandate.”
