Uganda to receive second A330 on February 2
Uganda airlines expects to take the final delivery of its A330-800 order next week
Uganda Airlines is scheduled to receive another A330-800neo next Tuesday, completing the second phase of its fleet development plan. The first A330 was handed over last December 21, arriving to a rapturous welcome in Entebbe the following day.
Sources familiar with the development told 256BN that the delivery will go ahead, despite the current Covid-19 lockdown in France.
“We are working around that and other issues,” an official said.
Initially scheduled for October and November 2020, the deliveries were pushed back to December and January in the wake of Covid-19 disruptions. A resurgence of the pandemic in Europe saw delivery of the second airframe slip to February. The pair of long range aircraft will be used to launch services to Dubai, London, Mumbai and Guangzhou.
