Stanbic basks in CPI awards
KAMPALA, JUNE 8 – After pulling through a trying 2015 Uganda’s banking industry is basking in the glow of Corporate Publishing International’s East Africa edition of the 2016 Banker Africa Awards.
Stanbic Bank, Uganda’s largest lender by assets beat off competitors to the best retail bank award in Uganda while its peer Standard Chartered bagged the best regional bank tag.
The awards held annually by the CPI Financial are designed to recognize banking excellence as well as financial products and services that have witnessed excellent performance or exponential market growth in East Africa.
“We are proud to win this prestigious award,” said Kevin Wingfield the Executive Director Personal and Business Banking at Stanbic Uganda adding: “As Uganda’s leading bank with a strong focus on our PBB unit, this recognition is a validation from the industry that our customer centric solution-oriented approach is working and a realisation of our PBB purpose of improving lives and fulfilling aspirations across Uganda.”
The Stanbic family also took home the Best Corporate Bank and Best Investment Bank which were won by CFC Stanbic Bank Kenya and Stanbic Bank Tanzania respectively.
