Stanbic Bank Uganda has taken its 35th anniversary customer engagements to Lira, Arua and Gulu, seeking feedback on banking services and the financial needs of businesses and entrepreneurs.
Stanbic Bank Uganda is using its 35th anniversary to deepen engagement with businesses and individual customers in Northern Uganda, with forums in Lira, Arua and Gulu focusing on service improvements, access to banking channels and the financial needs of entrepreneurs.
The forums, held under the bank’s annual October Love Month initiative, brought together customers and senior executives from Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited and Stanbic Bank Uganda’s Commercial, Business and Personal Banking divisions.
Mark Ocitti Ongom, chief executive of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited, led the delegation alongside Sam Fredrick Mwogeza, the bank’s executive director and head of Personal and Private Banking.
Ocitti said the bank’s growth over 35 years had been shaped by its partnerships with individuals and businesses, adding that customer feedback would help identify areas for improvement in its products and services.
He said the engagements were particularly important in understanding the financial needs of entrepreneurs and self-employed customers.
Stanbic’s head of Client Coverage, Samuel Bulenzi, said the bank was upgrading key services across the Northern Corridor while expanding access beyond conventional branches through ATMs, cash deposit machines, agent banking and its contact centre.
The bank is also promoting investment products through its sister company, SBG Securities, including multi-currency unit trusts and treasury bills.
Bulenzi said the solutions were intended to help customers manage business proceeds, access financing where eligible and explore investment options suited to their financial goals.
In Arua, city mayor Alionzi Lawrence Dangote welcomed the bank’s engagement with customers, saying collaboration between financial institutions, businesses and local authorities was important for entrepreneurship, employment creation and regional economic growth.
The forums form part of a wider series of customer engagements planned across Uganda in October. The bank’s Love Month programme also includes corporate social investment activities focused on community wellbeing.
The campaign comes as Stanbic marks 35 years in Uganda, using the anniversary to reinforce customer relationships while highlighting efforts to improve service delivery.
