Tech Brief – Global software company Zoho has launched powerful new artificial intelligence features in its low-code platform, Zoho Creator, aimed at simplifying and accelerating business app development for users of all skill levels.

At the center of the rollout is CoCreator, an AI assistant powered by Zoho’s in-house engine, Zia, which can generate fully functional applications from voice or text prompts, process diagrams, and business documents—without additional cost to users.

Among the standout features is Idea-to-App Generation, which leverages either ZohoAI or OpenAI to convert prompts or documentation into fully integrated applications, complete with dashboards, automations, and user permissions.

Other key updates include AI-powered data cleansing and modelling, voice-based app creation from mobile devices, and the ability to create custom AI models for tasks like OCR, prediction, and automation. A new AI Skills feature—currently in early access—also enables natural language-based automation for complex workflows.

Veerakumar Natarajan, Zoho’s Regional Lead for East Africa, said the updates mark a major leap in app creation: “AI now takes us to the next level, shortening the time from an idea to an app… without adding costs.”

Zoho emphasized that its AI innovations are built with a strong commitment to data privacy and user control. Unlike many competitors, the company does not train its models on consumer data and ensures customer information remains private.

The new AI tools are available now in Zoho Creator, with broader access to AI Skills expected by June 2025.
