After two unsuccessful bids to get a foothold in Uganda’s hospitality industry, global hotel chain Hilton is set to make amends with two managed properties.

The pioneer property, Hilton Garden Inn in Kamwokya is ready to open doors to the public while a second property is under development in Nakasero.

Last week, representatives of the chain inspected the progress of works on the Twed Hilton Kampala, a 230 room property that will sit on Kyadondo road in Nakasero. Developer Dan Twebaze who had been using his in-house building team, Twed Construction, also used the occasion to introduce Roko Construction as a building partner to help deliver the project at the end of 2020.

256BN has learned that the Garden Inn, developed by the Alibhai family will become operational late April.

The Hilton had been tapped to brand the 250 room Pearl of Africa property that was developed by the Aya brothers but the parties soon fell out over quality issues.
